Tip 1
First time burn the candle until wax melts to the sides of the jar this takes 2 to 3 hours, this will prevent tunnelling, and create for the life of the candle. Never burn candles for longer then 3 hours at a time. 
 
Tip 2
Trim your wick before each burn to get the most out of your candle and prevent large flames and mushrooming. 
 
Tip 3 
Snuff your candle wick then dip the wick into the melted wax and then straighten wick to prevent smoking
